The NATIVE HEALTH’s 10th Annual Native American Children’s Pageant is a wonderful family event and an opportunity to spend time together and celebrate the Native American culture and traditions. The Pageant will be held on Saturday, October 5, 10:00 a.m. at Phoenix College, AU Building-Bulpitt Auditorium, 1202 West Thomas Road, Phoenix.
There are three age categories. They are: birth-3 years, and 4-6 years and 7-10 years of age. The 4-6 and 7-10 are competitive. Children wear traditional dress. Children in the 4-6 and 7-10 year old categories perform some type of traditional activity. This could be “cow” roping on a sawhorse, grinding corn, storytelling, singing ABC’s, reading a poster/poem/story, dancing, weaving, singing, drumming or braiding. 1st and 2nd Place winners of the 4-6 and 7-10 categories win a prize. All children participating in the pageant will receive gifts.
