INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup Blue Corn Meal
- 1/2 cup 100% Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 cup Water
- 2 Tsp Juniper Ash
- 1 Tbsp Raw Blue Agave or Brown Sugar or ½ Tsp Sweet-n-low
**Recipe with no flour:
- 1 cup Blue Corn Meal
- ½ cup water
- 2 Tsp Juniper Ash
- 1 Tbsp Raw Blue Agave/Brown Sugar
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
- Whisk/Fork/Stirring Stick
- Spatula
- Measuring Cup
- Measuring Spoons
- Pot + Skillet
- 2 Bowls
- Scissors
DIRECTIONS:
- Add 1 cup water to pot. Set to medium-low heat. In mixing bowl, add blue corn meal+juniper ash 1.
- (WITH FLOUR) Add 1 cup water to pot. Set to medium-low heat. In bowl mix blue corn meal, juniper ash, 1/4 flour and slowly add to pot while stirring.
- Keep stirring until thick. Add optional sweetener. Stir evenly. Turn off stove.
- Turn on skillet + set to medium-low to medium heat.
- Add batter to mixing bowl (add up to ¼ cup flour or blue corn if needed).
- Form medium size cakes + place in skillet. Using spatula, flip cakes until desired firmness/toasted color.
